Dosing technology for lubricants

As a partner of SOMA GmbH (D) for the area Switzerland we offer unique products in the field of dosing technology for industrial lubricants, assembly automation and testing automation. We supply individual components, develop and build assemblies or complete production lines for the assembly and testing of mechanical, electrical or electronic components.

Since we offer practically everything from a single source, our customers have only one contact partner, one interface and one partner who will provide them with long-term, competent support.

IDV Impulse dosing valve

The patented metering valve is the result of several years of experience in the development and production of components in the field of volumetric lubricant metering. Wherever lubricant quantities need to be metered precisely and with a precise volume, the IDV – pulse metering valve is in its element.

Controlled by means of a monostable quick-acting pneumatic valve at a system pressure of 5 – 6 bar, up to 20 spot metering operations per second are achieved. Different metering volumes are therefore possible with a corresponding number of actuations with only one IDV without significant loss of time.

Components pulse metering valve

  • Valve cartridge
  • Valve connection block
  • Nozzle adapter
  • Change nozzle

Accessories for the fitting

  • Valve cartridges with different metering piston diameters for metering volumes from 0.3 mm³ - 40 mm³
  • Standardized exchangeable nozzles with nozzle diameters of 0.4 mm - 1.5 mm or air-assisted metering nozzles
  • Adjustable valve heating to improve flow properties and avoid ambient temperature effects

Combination of accessories through modular principle

The modular principle allows the best possible adaptation to the specific lubricant properties and metering specifications by combining differently dimensioned individual components with optionally available accessories.

The advantages at a glance

  • Non-contact dosing method
  • Can be used in automated handling systems due to small design and position independence
  • High process reliability
  • Low medium pre-pressure to avoid lubricant segregation
  • High metering speed

The medium to be metered is supplied to the IDV at a static pressure of 3-6 bar via the valve connection block, with a check valve in the metering chamber of the valve preventing uncontrolled discharge. Controlled by a quick-acting valve, the metering piston in the valve cartridge is abruptly pressurized and plunges into the metering chamber at high speed without play. The lubricant column clamped there is driven in the direction of the metering nozzle and opens the check valve.

The impulse-like displacement stroke, which takes place with great force, causes the lubricant to emerge at the nozzle with high kinetic energy and correspondingly high flow velocity and to break off in a defined manner with the abrupt stop of the metering piston at the adjustable end stop, thus achieving a precisely targeted lubricant application. The metering volume can be adjusted manually via the rotatable valve cylinder, which limits the stroke of the metering piston.
